Looking for something new to do this summer?
Learn how to DJ
(Appropriate for ages 10-25)
“This is more of an experience than it is a lesson”
About
Most new ‘skills’ take hours of lessons to develop a basic understanding of how everything works, then more time to sharpen those skills. Did you know you have to practice playing the Guitar for 2-3 hours a week, for 6 months to be able to play a few basic songs? Or, it could take you about a year at 2-3 hours a week, to learn how to play a song on the Piano. Kimberly Wilkins said it best - “Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!”
With that in mind we created our “DJ For a Day” lesson. By the end of the first lesson you should have a basic understanding of how to DJ, what “all those buttons do”, and will have a 5-10 minute mix of your favorite songs to show off to your friends!
Now more than ever DJing is ‘the’ skill to have, envied by many but held by few. Take one lesson with DJ Turn Up and you’ll be able to tell your friends and family that you’re officially a DJ. So, I just have one question for you… what’s your DJ name going to be?

How Does the Lesson Work?
This is a home-based lesson, so we come to you. Each lesson takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to complete. This will include an introduction to the equipment, understanding how everything works, and we will wrap up by recording your very own mix. After you schedule a lesson, we will email you a short questionnaire to learn more about who we will be teaching - so we can better tailor the experience. We will also ask you to send us a list of some of your favorite songs, and we will use those songs to record your mix at the end of the lesson.
The Mix
After you understand the basics of mixing and transitioning, we will start recording your custom DJ mix. We will record 2 or 3 live attempts together, then we will take those recordings back with us, and will “clean it up a bit”. After a day or so we will send you a final copy of your mix, and will also mail you a flash drive containing your mix. The mix is yours, download it onto your phone and show off your mad DJ skills to everyone you know. You’ll be saying “pass me the aux” in no time!
What Does it Cost?
$150
Prices are flat. Travel, set up, and taxes are included in the cost. The cost drops down to $100 per lesson if you decide to continue to sharpen your skills and techniques with us.

More About the DJ
Chase aka DJ Turn Up has been DJing private events and parties for over 11 years. Starting at age 14 he grew from performing at a few events a year, to currently running a full multi-state entertainment company. With over 75 DJ’s employed and trained, it’s safe to say he knows what he’s doing when it comes to teaching someone how to DJ.
“I love DJing, and for so many different reasons. It’s a great way to make a living, and it’s a great way to express yourself. At minimum, it’s fun to come home after a long day and just mess around mixing my favorite songs together... it’s actually pretty therapeutic. My goal is to introduce this skill to as many people as possible, I think everyone should try it at least once.”
Just like most businesses, the summer is our slow-season. This gives us the perfect opportunity to start teaching others how to DJ - something we’ve been looking to do for a few years now. We took a few months to put this lesson together, and now we’re ready to bring the party to you!
